Hey LadyDudes, meet Marissa Andersen!
Marissa is a new shredder with tons of energy and excitement for the sport. She really started getting into mountain biking after the 2017 Kansas City Women’s Dirt Summit put on by EarthRiders. At the event she met several women who she now connects with regularly to hit the trails. One of her favorite things about the sport is when she’s in the woods ripping through the trails and enjoying the scenery. She said her mind doesn’t wander like it did in other sports to think about laundry and dinner, she’s just present in the moment in the woods.
She loves fitness in general and shows that love by participating in triathlon as well as teaching Turbo Kick classes. She used to do those tris on a hardtail mountain bike! She’s proudly upgraded to a Giant road bike and a Liv Embolden mountain bike.
Marissa has a loving husband and three children; two sons, 11 and 8, a 3-year-old daughter and helps take care of her 8-year-old niece. She loves to take her kids to Turbo Kick with her whenever possible. The family also has a Great Dane, Cora.
We asked Marissa a few “important” questions about herself:
- Flats or Clipless? Flats all the way!
- What’s the one thing you always have in your pack when riding? Phone
- Do you have any hidden talents off the bike? I love to sing!
- What’s your favorite local trail? BRP
- What’s your favorite donut? Cherry cake with sprinkles.
Thank you, Marissa, for letting us feature you. We all hope to see you out on the trails!
